How much memory and RAM is necessary to run Photoshop CS3 on a laptop with Vista? I'm looking at one with 160gb memory and 2gb RAM. Is 3 or 4 gb RAM necessary, particularly if I'm running other programs (Firefox, iTunes, etc.) at the same time?

You should be fine with what you are looking at with the 2gb of Ram. That is what I have a photoshop works just fine. If you want to upgrade with more RAM I probably won't hurt anything other then your pocketbook. Adobe requires 512 mb of RAM and 1 GB of memory to run the program. So you should be fine even with everything else.

I am running it in mac osx with vista simultaneously on 4 gigs with a pile of other stuff too, so you should be good.
Vista with 160gb hard drive and 2gb of ram will work fine, try to buy a laptop 1.8ghz duo core or higher and it will work very nicely,CS3 starts and runs much faster than CS2.
