In adobe photoshop, how do you make 2 pictures into 1 bigger picture?

Let's say I opened 2 pictures, I wanted one on top and one on bottom, but as 1 picture, how do I do this is on Adobe Photoshop CS2?

create a new blank image which is the combined pixel height of both pictures, and the pixel width of the widest picture.

then paste each picture into the new blank image, one on the top and one on the bottom.

save the file, it will be one picture with two pictures inside.

This is what i'd do:

1. Create a new document

2. Drag each image into the new document

3. Position the pics where i wanted them

4. Crop

5. Merge layers if appicable

6. Save
