A friend recently downloaded photoshop onto her laptop, only to find it doesnt work.
Is there anyway she can delete it?
As we tried to run the virus protection but now that won't load either!
Could it be a virus?

Where did they download this copy of Photoshop from, if it was from a trusted source (such as adobe for their trial versions of software) then I very much doubt it is a virus.
However, downloading software from less-than-savoury places always has an inherent risk of containing trojans, worms, viruses.
Try installing an alternative Anti-Virus product to the one you already have - AVG have a good free anti-virus software you can use (if it isn't already your main anti-virus solution) - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/us/frt/0 and do a virus scan on your drives using that.
Also, try using something such as Your Uninstaller (http://www.download.com/3000-2096_4-1073... - free trial download here) which will fully remove any software and associated files/registry keys from your pc.
