I have Photoshop Elements. Not sure how much it was, since my mom paid for it from somewhere or another, but it averages around $70. Having used Photoshop CS2 before, I have to say I recommend this one more since it won't break the bank and has basically the same things.

Not to mention it's LEGAL.
Photoshop is really expensive, over 600 dollars. You can choose to buy Photoshop elements, which is much cheaper- typically less than half of the price of the full version. Elements offers many of the features of Photoshop, and is good for home use. It will fix your pictures, and does some light editing. If you are a student or know a student, many times colleges offer Photoshop at a much lower price, I paid less than 300 bucks for mine through my college bookstore.

Photoshop CS3 Problem...?

Everytime I try to open or save a file, it says ''The paging is too small to complete this operation: C:/Common files/adobe/photoshop_cs3/3.0.0/VersionC... Before, it wouldn't even open because it said VersionCue.dll couldn't be found in the correct folder, so I had to find it in the Photoshop CS3 folder, and then create the folder path that it was supposed to be in, and now it seems that it is causing a problem! PLEASE HELP!

Wow all your files must be messed up.. Just re-install photoshop and it should work again (remember to put all your saved files in a secure place)

I recently was using the Photoshop CS2 trial on some website, and it expired a while ago. My dather told me that for christmas he was going to get me Photoshop CS, and my question is will I be able to pull up what i was working on in CS2 in CS? I don't think it would work but I would like to double check.

If when you saved the file in CS2 you clicked the ''Maximize Compatibility'' tick box, then the .psd file is backwards compatible with CS. If not, try searching google for a file converter.

You can do it just fine with Elements.

The pictures you see start with almost flawless pictures. That's very important to understand. The magazine photographers use very advanced and expensive photo equipment, lighting, professional models and years of experience to take great shots.

When that part is over with - $600 photoshop is a pocket change for them.

So they do use a full blown photoshop, but you don't have to. You can get similar results with Elements. Full version has many functions specific to magazine editors, like working with 48 bit color, advanced color profiling, and more. Most of the things they do though - can be done in Elements. It just isn't worth the money for full PS unless you start with the kind of pictures as mentioned above.

I don't have Photoshop 6.0 anymore, I use CS2, so I can't be sure it's the same (or even available in that version--are you sure you're not using Photoshop Elements 6.0?) but it should be similar to this:

Go to the image menu, and choose mode. There should be options there for 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit. Note that you must be in RGB or Grayscale mode to go to 32-bit; not CMYK or some other colorspace. Also note that if you are in 8-bit mode (which is the default), you must convert to 16-bit first before you are able to go to 32-bit; you can't jump from 8 straight to 32.

If it's not there in your version, just go to the help menu and search for ''32 bit''.

How do I edit a photoshop template?

I purchased a template that included both psd and html files. I ended up tweaking the template in photoshop to get it to look the way I want, but I can't figure out how to save it so I can edit the text in a html application. At first I sliced the psd and saved it along with a corresponding html file which I opened in frontpage, however everything on the page appears as images which you cannot easily add text to.

The original html included with the template was set up so the images were all saved into cells of a table and the text was editable. I don't want to use photoshop's text tool every time I want to add text or links, so what do I need to do to edit text in a standard editor?

Any tutorials or infomation explaining this would be appreciated, thanks :)

When you slice the template, you have to use save for web.. This will also null the original HTML, because it's coded specifically for the way you bought it as. When you save for web, it will give you a folder of all of the images and an index.html with the basic outline of code to line up all the pictures. From there, you have to perfect the code.. which can be extremely hard if you don't know what you're doing.
